Copyright

Notice and counter-notice.

How copyright notices are handled, who to send them to, and what happens next.

Designated agent

Notices of claimed infringement go to favour.ogundare@magnustech.com. Registration of a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office is in progress; this page will carry the agent’s name and address when it is filed.

Notice

A notice should include: the work claimed to be infringed; the address on this site of the material; your contact details; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

What happens

A complete notice is acted on within 72 hours: the material is hidden, the poster (where known) is told, and the notice is logged. An author asking about their own work does not need a formal notice; the takedown form is faster.

Counter-notice

A counter-notice should include: identification of the material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury of good-faith belief that it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the U.S., any district in which the site may be found); and your signature. Material is restored in 10 to 14 business days unless the claimant files an action.

Repeat infringers

Accounts, when they exist, are terminated after repeated valid notices.

Nothing on this site encourages infringement. It is an archive of fan-created transformative works hosted at the author’s pleasure, on blk-archiveofourown.org.
