About
An archive, kept.
A mirror of fan-created works centring Black characters, writers, ships and fandoms, preserved from the April 2025 snapshot. Not affiliated with the OTW or AO3.
What this is
blk-archiveofourown is an archive mirror: a copy of publicly posted fan-created works, preserved from the April 2025 snapshot and kept readable while the original archive is unavailable. It centres works about Black characters, writers, ships and fandoms, and it hosts the full text of every work on its own servers so that nothing here depends on another site being up.
What it is not
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Organization for Transformative Works or Archive of Our Own. It uses none of their branding. It is a non-commercial preservation project: no advertising, no paid tiers, no sale of access to any work.
Whose works these are
All rights remain with the authors. Every work is shown as published, verbatim, with its original author name, source and dates. Nothing is edited, sold, or presented as our own. Comments and kudos are switched off on every imported work, so no feedback accumulates on a work its author never chose to expose here. Any author can have any work hidden or deleted in one step, with or without an account: takedown. An author can also opt out entirely, which removes every work under their name and blocks any future import.
Right now
This is the first, read-only deployment. There are no accounts, no community features and no way to post. The texts of the works are still being loaded in batches, fandom by fandom, with Black-centred fandoms first; a work whose text has not arrived yet shows its full metadata and says “text arriving”.
